This urn is made from Plantation Teak which is native to southern Asia and widely grown on plantations throughout tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Heartwood tends to be a golden or medium brown, with color darkening with age.

The centre of the top is Plantation Teak, framed by bands of Plantation Teak, separated and defined by strips of black veneer.

Except for black veneer, no stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo microporous wood oil. The resultant low-lustre finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 11.5" x 8.4" x 4.0" (29.2 x 21.3 x 10.2 cm).

Internal dimensions are about 9.9" x 6.6" x 3.1" (25.2 x 16.8 x 7.8 cm).

Internal capacity is 200 cubic inches (3.3 L).

Access is from bottom which is secured with 6 screws.

Woods Used:

Plantation Teak, Black Walnut

Mitred corners reinforced with Black Walnut keys.

Sides are solid 3/4" (19 mm) thick Plantation Teak

Bottom base is Black Walnut.

Top is made from solid 1/8" (3 mm) thick Plantation Teak, laminated to 1/4" (6.4 mm) solid core plywood.
